The world is without truthfulness. This is a result of being out of the presence of God and His truth. All the more unfortunate, however, is the fact that many believers who claim to be in His presence likewise lack truthfulness and sincerity. If the salt loses its saltiness, it is thrown out and trampled by men. The true voice of the Lord that calls out to the world says: ¡°Return to my love.¡± This voice was made evermore evident to us through the Philippine Crusade.
The Philippine Crusade, held at Quezon City, was arranged by one of our own ordained evangelists, Missionary Min-Ho Shin. In talks prior to the crusade, Missionary Shin had told us of the events that lay ahead, particularly that Ex-President Ramos and his Press Secretary were planning to receive us at the airport, which was to be followed by a joint press conference in the airport VIP room. Deeply moved by the Crusade videos of Senior Pastor Lee, they had volunteered their help.
Being our first Crusade of 2005, we headed to the Philippines in high hopes, anticipating the majestic works of God that was to be revealed. Nevertheless, success is a result of faultless preparations. Therefore, without a meticulous plan-and-check approach, yielding a positive result is out of the question.
At the airport the former President and his Press Secretary were nowhere to be seen. We were, however, met with reporters who immediately surrounded us and escorted us to the VIP room, where the interview soon began. ¡°A few days ago in Manila there was a terrorist attack at a Catholic church, but you come in spite of such threats. Why?¡± asked on the reporters. Senior Pastor Lee answered, ¡°For the past 20 years of my ministry I have overcome many obstacles, many persecutions and even dangerous circumstances. However, such works of the devil has never been able to stop me. I come because God has sent me here. Evil spirits try to instill fear, but as I march onward with boldness, standing alongside God, demons have no choice but to flee in seven directions.¡±
The saints of the Philippine Jesus Centered Church also came out to greet us at the airport. Senior Pastor Lee shook the hands of everyone there, and to the children, promised that he will hold a party for them later at church. After lunch, we headed to the Crusade site, Quezon City Memorial Circle. There, the audio equipment on either side of the podium was blocking the view, which was rearranged according to Senior Pastor Lee¡¯s instructions.
Philippine Jesus Centered Church, headed by Missionary Shin, was located in the outskirts of Quezon City. Many children were awaiting the arrival of Senior Pastor Lee. They were singing, ¡°Blessed Be the Name.¡± When Senior Pastor Lee called on a volunteer to come forward to sing the praise, all the children were reluctant to do so. Senior Pastor Lee spoke to them about ¡°the person who God uses¡±: ¡°First, God uses a person who volunteers himself to God¡¯s work. It¡¯s because forceful men lay hold of heaven. Second, it¡¯s a person who keeps to his promises. It¡¯s a person who knows the value, the importance of promises. The best way of keeping your promises is not making any. Lastly, God uses those who give good things to others. Set fire to an apple tree and it will die. However, when the apple tree is watered it bears many apples which can be eaten and even shared with others. Therefore, good things must be given to people as well as the environment. Harming and destroying nature will equally harm us in return. We must all become ministers of life, both to other people and to the environment.¡±
Hearing this message all the children raised their hands to volunteer themselves. Senior Pastor Lee spoke words of blessings over the children, telling them to become great people in the future, and as he had promised, Senior Pastor Lee held a party for the children. (Continued next week)
