Cheating time means stealing time. It is different from wasting time. Wasting time is being negligent to time given to me, but stealing time is wasting time that belongs to another.
An employee taking care of his own private needs during working hours, such as taking excessive breaks, is stealing the time that rightfully belongs to the employer. Each employee is a unit of the greater whole and the work that is accomplished by each during his own allotted time, when added together, results in the productivity of the company as a whole. Therefore, using that time other than for work is stealing time, for it takes away from the whole.
Many are skilled in managing their finances, but not when it comes to managing their time. Time is, in fact, money. That is why managing time wisely, both that belongs to me and others, is crucial. There are those who are faithfully late to service. Such persons are stealing God¡¯s time. Also of importance is the evening hour, which belongs to the family.
Family was the first community God established and therefore is one of the most important. However, are husbands faithful stewards of this God-given establishment? Unfortunately, some are even reluctant about going home early to their families. Husbands, consider your evening hours the time of sharing with your wives and a time of instructing and caring for your children, and joy will fill your household.
Refrain from stealing God¡¯s time, time of work, and time that belongs to your family. Someone once said that failure in life is a result of time wasted. Indeed, time is like a judge that fairly judges us all, a judge we cannot avoid. Therefore, let us always give our best.
