The immeasurable blessings of God are coming upon Mexico. Among the many nations of Central America, we have visited Mexico six times and have held Crusades in nine cities: San Luis, Tijuana, Monterrey, Mexico City, Nuevo Laredo, Veracruz, Saltillo, Juchitan, Sabinas.
Still there are many nations that we have yet to visit, and apart from the revivals at the Prayer Mountain, domestic Crusades are held only once or twice a year, but our numerous visits to Mexico is evident of the fact that Mexico is of a great concern and importance to God. Our experience has taught us that the pastors of Mexico are united unlike any other. And wherever we go, we see many thirsting and hungering for God gathering in phenomenal numbers. God searches for those who seek Him with all their hearts. This holds true for individuals as well as entire nations.
This Crusade in Juchitan was arranged by Pastor Ciro, who attended the Mexico City Crusade with his ill wife, in March of last year. He had taken his wife, who was suffering from liver cancer, on a 10-hour bus ride to Mexico City, where Senior Pastor Lee earnestly prayed to God for her healing and drove the demons out from her.
Senior Pastor Lee then gave her a cup of warm water and told her to take a good care of herself. Pastor Ciro and his wife extended their gratitude and bid their farewells saying that they would like to invite Senior Pastor Lee to their home city and facilitate a Crusade, but at the same time expressed their diffidence on the possibility of having a pastor of such excellence in their small city. Senior Pastor Lee told them to pray about it. It¡¯s been a year since our first encounter, and being mindful of it all along and in answering their prayers, God had directed us to the small city in Mexico, Juchitan.
We arrived at Huatulco Airport where we were instantly surrounded by its enchanting beauty. We have traveled the world but such an airport was definitely a first. As the plane¡¯s trapdoor opened, the sight of beauty that unfolded was unrivaled. Although it was extremely humid, the beautiful sight was more than enough to wash away our exhaustion from the long travel.
At the airport, we were greeted by Missionary Lee, Hyun-Sook; Missionary Kim, Sung-Ja; and by Pastor Ciro and his son. We were told that Juchitan was a 2-hour drive from there. Prior to our departure, we were having lunch when Pastor Ciro extended his deep gratitude to Senior Pastor Lee. It was none other than for the healing of his wife from liver cancer.
Recalling what had happened a year ago, we could not but to praise God¡¯s name. Such blessed news was God¡¯s way of comforting us after the long, tiresome travel. Pastor Ciro added that having such an accomplished pastor like Senior Pastor Lee in this small city was a miracle in itself and again expressed his gratitude.
Juchitan is a small city with a population of 300,000. Located in Southern Mexico, many in this small suburban city share the physical appearance of indigenous Indians. According to Pastor Ciro, there are Indian villages surrounding the city, most of which are just under an hour away.
What was more surprising, however, was that, in order to witness the gospel to the natives, they had gone into the villages with the videotape of Senior Pastor Lee, but the villagers were already watching the tapes. Through unknown hands, the videotapes were finding its way to the far corners of the world and fulfilling the role of a missionary.
Strong gusts of wind blew on the first morning of the Crusade. Strong winds were notorious here, which often caused many events to be called off, and the fact that our Crusade was taking place in an outdoor stadium made it much more unfavorable. Those opposing the Crusade had incidentally announced that the Crusade was cancelled due to windy conditions. They were falsely confident on misconceptions, for their understanding of us was highly mistaken.
Never once had we stopped what we began because of winds or rainfall. Stopping the heavy rains and quieting the windy storms, we have reigned victorious in many battles. We have witnessed numerous miracles of God that made the impossible possible.
5 p.m., the winds continued. However, the stadium was beginning to fill, as many made their way by vans, cars, commercial trucks, bicycles, motorcycles, buses, and by dusk, the baseball stadium was jam-packed.
Senior Pastor Lee stood on the windy platform, and with the cheering of the crowd exchanged the national flags of the two countries and began praising the blessed name of God. He then called on everyone to offer God the very thing He delights in most, prayer of repentance. The voice of repentance, more than ten-thousand strong, was paving the way for victory against the evil spirits of Juchitan. Evil spirits began throwing many into convulsions and began shrieking loudly. The war had begun. (Continued next week)
